Erasmus + - Cultural Exchange in Portugal, DAY 4

Today, May 19h we had lots of fun. After we woke up and went to the school at Pardilhó, we had a one-hour-bus trip to the amazing city of Porto. The first location we visited was a wine cellar called Cockburn's Porto where we learnt about the place's history and how porto wine is made, which was really interesting. They explained us where they get their grapes from and how wine preparation makes the end result special. After that we went along the Douru river, had some free time at the market place. Then we went to the historical centre of Porto, where we saw some amazing hand painted traditional tiles which depicted important events of the Portuguese history and people's daily life at the Sao Bento train station. Walking uphill the shopping street we came to a church, called "Capela das Almas", the facede of which was covered in blue and white tiles and had a very rich interior, with the statues of two saints, Catarina and Francesco. Then we had some free time for buying ice-creams and souveniers. In the evening, we had dinner and a music evening with all our new friends. (Martin Krajcar)
